First off I went to Richmond, and it seemed my wind jinx was doing its worst. It'd been blowing a hooley crossing the Richmond Bridge, yet here at the launch spot there was only a slight breeze, albeit building. So I rigged up my 6.8, and the breeze suddenly died...

Luckily, a local lady there had a wind pager, and tipped me off about Larkspur Landing. Less than 5 miles away, and blowing old boots! I had to use the odd combination of the Carve with the 5.0 as the first 25m or so were in a huge wind shadow that simply wouldn't entertain a wave board.

As a result I bounced around on the chop with the Carve, and also was still trying to get used to it. The footstraps kept giving me grief for being too small and in the wrong place. But once I got used to the board & maxxed out the straps I had a much better time of it. Still swimming too much though.

The highlight of the session was losing my launch spot and almost winding up landing at Larkspur Prison... oops!
